William Ying

CEO & Director

Mr. William Ying brings over 20 years of experience in capital markets and strategic planning to Benchmark. Since 1996, he has served at various financial institutions including Yorkton Securities, Blackmont Capital, Jordan Capital and Mackie Research Capital. In those roles, Mr. Ying has provided growth investment opportunities to accredited investors globally (institutional, corporate and individual), as well as advised growth-oriented companies in capital raising, M&A, corporate development and other corporate finance activities. Mr. Ying participates in the Mentor in Business program at Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business as a mentor to share his business experience with future business leaders. Mr. Ying holds a MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University (Canada).

Haifeng Liu

President & Director

Since 2003, Mr. Liu has been the General Manager of Zhengzhou JinHao Mechanical Electric Co., Ltd., a China based company. Mr. Liu has over 20 years of business and leadership experience and led the Linhe Winery Group’s (China) strategic restructuring in 2013. As an experienced venture capitalist, he has raised capital for many large companies.

In 2015, Mr. Liu successfully led the reorganization plan of the struggling Galaxy Cotton (China), resulting in the company becoming one of the top companies in China in the textile industry.

Mr. Liu holds a diploma in Business Administration from the Henan University (China, 1997)and has completed a certification with the Venture Capital & Private Equity Investment (VC/PE) from Tsinghua University (2012).

Mr.Liu is also the Vice-Chairman of China Bast and Leaf Fibers Textile Association (CBLFTA).

George Dorin, MSc (Econ), FCSI, CPA, CA, CF

Chairman & Director

Mr. Dorin has 40 years of broad-based financial experience, including over 20 years as a corporate director or CFO for several private and public companies. He holds undergraduate degrees in both Science and Accounting from the University of British Columbia, a Master’s Degree in Finance from the London School of Economics in England, and the Diploma FCSI (Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute).

As a Chartered Professional Accountant, he was also granted a CF (Corporate Finance) specialist designation from CPA Canada in 2008. He has worked in the financial services sector with Ernst & Whinney (now KPMG), Price Waterhouse, Royal Bank of Canada, and with Pemberton Securities (now RBC Dominion Securities). In 2007 and 2008 he was a Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance with Wolrige Mahon, a BC-based CPA Firm. Most recently, he has been providing corporate finance, senior financial management, and corporate director (including Chairman and Audit Committee Chairman) services to several public companies through his personal services finance company CANUS Capital Corporation.

Mike Cosic

Director

Mr. Cosic brings over 25 years of financial experience to Benchmark Botanics, including corporate finance and corporate development involving several mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. He currently sits on the Board of Directors, and is the Audit Committee Chair, of Eastern Platinum Limited. He was previously the CFO of 3 early stage, high growth companies in the cannabis, blockchain, and lithium industries being Meta Growth Corp., DLT Labs Inc., and Lithium Americas Corp. Mr. Cosic holds an MBA degree and is a CFA charterholder.

David Li

CFO, MBA & CPA-IL

Mr. David Li, MBA, CPA (Illinois) has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Benchmark since November 5th, 2020.

Mr. Li has over 20 years of international financial management and capital market experience. He has worked as Vice President, Asia Pacific with Alderon Iron Ore Corp. , Interim Chief Financial Officer of Eastern Platinum Limited, Chief Financial Officer of Minco Gold Corporation, Chief Financial Officer of Minco Silver Corporation, Chief Financial Officer of Minco Base Metals and Chief Financial Officer of Selwyn Chihong Mining Ltd. In those positions, he managed accounting and finance activities, strategic corporate development, mergers and acquisitions and project financing for various projects in Canada and China. Previously, he was the Asia Finance Controller for Eclipse Inc. (now Honeywell) in China and Director of Strategic Planning for Trina Solar Ltd., a NYSE listed public company. He also held various managerial roles in Bunge Ltd., a NYSE listed food and agribusiness company in New York and Cargill’s investment company in Beijing. Mr. Li holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona, USA and an active CPA License in Illinois, USA.

Xinjun Zheng

Senior Advisor

Mr.Zheng holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Jilin Radio and TV University. He started to work at the Shandong Construction Bank from 1992, then in 1995, he served as the General Manager of Jinlu Construction Company under Jinan Construction Bank. In 1997, he served as the chairman of Jinan Baochuan Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. In 2002, he served as the chairman of Hainan Sanya Palm Spring Development Co., Ltd. In 2009, Mr.Zheng started his real estate investment journey in Vancouver after he immigrated here. In 2016, he founded Beijing Dinglian Investment Co. Ltd.
